Hi all, I’m a reporter for WHYY, the NPR member station in Philadelphia and southern Jersey. In the course of reporting on Sandy rebuilding, I’m currently in search of communities that have enacted innovative or noteworthy approaches to storm mitigation. For example, is there some Katrina-impacted community that rebuilt in thoughtful or unique ways? Some Carolinas community that had a near miss with a hurricane, but decided to be proactive with their storm planning? In other words, are there places you’d point to that could be held up as examples of what’s possible? Many thanks for any suggestions. I’m also reachable at tsamuelson@whyy.org.
