I know I’ve been active on StormSmart the last few days, but I wanted to share one more webinar opportunity with you all:
Please join us for our next Gulf of Mexico Climate Community of Practice Webinar!
Engaging Businesses to Create a More Resilient Coastal Economy
March 19, 2015
1 p.m. central time/2 p.m. eastern time
Please join the Gulf of Mexico Climate Community of Practice as we share lessons-learned from partners who are working with the private sector on resilience planning. Our guest speakers include Jody Thompson (Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium), Colette Boehm (Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism), Thomas Ruppert (Florida Sea Grant), and Lauren Land (Louisiana Sea Grant). Jody, Colette, and Lauren have been working to expand the Coastal Resilience Index to private sectors including tourism, fisheries, and ports and harbors. Thomas has been working with business leaders in Florida on resilience and continuity of operations planning. The private sector is a relatively new audience for those of us in the CoP, and it will be valuable to share lessons-learned and thoughts on how to better engage the private sector in this important work.
We hope you will be able to join us for this event! This is a free webinar, and participation is first-come, first-served. Pre-registration is not required.
