Here’s some info on an intro CRS webinar that will be offered by FEMA on January 21st:

You are invited to attend a FEMA webinar/training, “Introduction to the Community Rating System.” The Community Rating System (CRS) provides reduced premiums for flood insurance policy holders in communities that implement programs and activities that exceed the minimum criteria for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. If your community conducts floodplain mapping, regulatory, loss reduction, emergency management, and/or public information activities, you could benefit from this program.
This webinar is for people new to the Community Rating System (CRS), especially from communities that are not yet in the program. The training is part of the new CRS Webinar Series and will be repeated along with more advanced topics in the coming months. Detailed information is included below. Please note that the training includes 1 CEC for CFMs, and class size is limited. Registration is free, but required.

Training Description: This one-hour session will introduce FEMA’s Community Rating System, how it operates, the costs and benefits for communities, where to get help, and how to apply. The target audience is local officials, floodplain managers, and members of the public interested in flood protection.

    Tuesday, January 21, 2014, 1:00 p.m. Eastern/10:00 a.m. Pacific
