Lincoln Walther Consulting LLC was recently incorporated by nationally-recognized hazard mitigation and land use planning expert Lincoln Walther, FAICP. Previously, Mr. Walther served as the Planning Director at CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA) for over 23 years. He has been actively engaged in urban planning for more than 46 years. Since 1997 he has focused on hazard mitigation and disaster recovery planning. During his tenure at CSA he assisted over 50 communities in planning and practices related to hazard mitigation, hazard resiliency, and disaster recovery. Most recently, he was involved in development of the newly published APA Planning Advisory Service report, Planning for Post-Disaster Recovery: Next Generation. He was on an Advisory Committee for the Florida Department of Community Affairs that produced the guide Protecting Florida’s Communities – Land use planning strategies and best development practices for minimizing vulnerability to flooding and coastal storms. Over the years, Mr. Walther has prepared FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plans throughout Florida, Louisiana and Arkansas aimed at increasing the long-term resilience of local communities to flooding and other natural events.
