Massachusetts 2 months, 4 weeks agoI just attended the StormSmart webinar. It was great and had quite a bit of helpful information. One bit of information that was shared was the ability to acquire Community Rating System (CRS) points from FEMA in order to lower flood insurance premiums. Might anyone be aware of an example of this in a community in Massachusetts?
-
Hey William, glad you found the presentation useful. Massachusetts has almost 20 communities participating in the CRS. You can find a list of all of them here: http://www.fema.gov/library/viewRecord.do?id=3629
Lots more info on the CRS here: http://ma.stormsmart.org/home/community-rating-system-crs-primer/

Of the 13 active CRS communities in Massachusetts, the City of Quincy is the star. A dedicated staff person is key for keeping up with the required documentation.
